Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus

there are two videos recently that caught my attention on youtube that i'd like to discuss.

both are posted below.

my next post under this topic will deal with the specifics, but please watch first so as not to be tainted by my commentary.

You have just eloquently explained why I gave up on Christianity and arguing about it with modern Christians. I have no desire to destroy other people's faith. At the same time I have to restrain myself from pointing out the contradictions. I have not given up on love, kindness and peace - just the Christ badge. Always enjoy your posts.

Has Christ spoken these words to you personally or did you get them second-hand from one of the Bible translations?

You see true Christians have moved beyond the things written and relegated the Bible to an uninspired collection of hearsay and rumour.

You must rely on Christ's personal revelations to you through spirit. If you want in on the living Christ you must try to keep up. Hope this helps.

Absolutely - But you haven't answered the question. Where do you personally get you Christ comments from? Sarcasm is often used to question apparently contradictory beliefs.

You are very vocal on this forum and make a huge number of unsubstantiated claims. You have the opportunity to make me look foolish by demonstrating that your reasoning is sound and dependable. It's what Christ would want!

In fairness to the original American settlers it should be mentioned that they were American indians. The white man butchered them in their thousands and claimed the land for himself.

many people who" become jw`s" through the ministry are people who are , at the time , in a vulnerable state.

{ lets face it had you been in your right mind you would never have accepted it right ?}.

many of the people who are" born in" are by that very fact vulnerable they never had a chance and were indoctrinated from an early age .. of course their going to have a lot of issues to deal with that history shows can take many years to shake off,if at all.. all i`m saying is i think we should give people a lot more space,and allow them to see the bigger picture that we can show them on this site,give them time to absorb the information thats available on this site,some of the things you learn here is a bit much to take in at first,beleive me i`ve been their .

Being a gladiator, I don't often quote the Bible but Proverbs & Ecclesiastes contain some good advice.

A name is better than good oil, and the day of death than the day of one’s being born. Better is it to go to the house of mourning than to go to the banquet house, because that is the end of all mankind; and the one alive should take [it] to his heart. Better is vexation than laughter, for by the crossness of the face the heart becomes better. Better is it to hear the rebuke of someone wise than to be the man hearing the song of the stupid ones. For as the sound of thorns under the pot, so is the laughter of the stupid one; and this too is vanity. For mere oppression may make a wise one act crazy, and a gift can destroy the heart.

Better is the end afterward of a matter than its beginning. Better is one who is patient than one who is haughty in spirit. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid.

Interesting to see these murderers are now interested in law and human rights. One of the inmates murdered and decapitated his mother.

If these murderers had thought about the rights of the people they murdered they would not now be on death row.

Their innocent victims lost all their rights and had no say in how they were executed.
